What we collect, and what we do not.

Implbits is built to be privacy-first. The site sets no cookies, has no accounts or sign-ups, and does not track you across other websites. This page explains the small amount of information involved in running it, and how to ask us about it.

What we collect

When you read a page, we collect nothing that identifies you. There is no login, no newsletter form, no comment system and no advertising on this site, so there is nothing for you to fill in and nothing to tie a visit to a person.

Like every website, the network that delivers these pages has to receive your request, including your IP address, in order to send the page back to you and to keep out abusive traffic. That handling is part of delivering the page. We do not use it to build profiles of readers, and we do not combine it with information from anywhere else.

If you email us, we receive what you choose to send: your email address, your message and anything you include in it. We use it to read and answer your message and to correct the page you wrote about. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your message.

Aggregate visit statistics

To understand which guides are useful, the site counts visits as aggregate statistics. These cover:

  • Page views: how many times each page was read.
  • Referrers: which sites or searches people followed to reach a page.
  • Load speed: how quickly pages load, so slow pages can be fixed.

These statistics are cookieless and are reported only as totals. They contain no personal data, they do not identify individual visitors, and they do not follow you to other sites. We cannot use them to tell who you are or to see what one person read.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. It does not use cookies for statistics, for advertising or for remembering you between visits, so there is no cookie banner to accept or dismiss.

If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser may remember that choice on your own device so the page looks the same next time. That setting stays in your browser, is not sent to us, and you can clear it at any time with your browser's site data controls.

Guides on this site link to standards bodies, vendor documentation and research papers so you can check our sources. When you follow one of those links, you are on another website, and its own privacy policy applies there.

Your requests

You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to delete it. In practice, the only personal information we may hold is an email you sent us. Write to editor@implbits.com from the same address, say what you would like, and we will act on it.

If this policy changes, the updated date on this page will change with it.
